Bill Gates Donates 10 Billion Dollars

Conclusion

This is my goodbye everyone who has read this blog.  To conclude my posts I would just like to say that human nature is a hard thing to understand.  It is the drive behind all of our decisions and it influences everything that we do.  Our nature as humans is to follow our morals, our morals are to be good and fair and kind to others.  People can go against their human nature, but it will be a harder decision to make than by following their morals.  It is our duty as humans to be fair and just to others, and to fight against all those who are not.  We all have the potential to be great people, all we have to do is follow our nature.

Cycle Understandings

1. Philosophies of leadership are determined by beliefs about human nature.
Leaders lead based on what thier belief of human nature is.  If you understand human nature you can use this knowledge to manipulate and control people.  Leading is much easier if you know who you're leading.  An example could be the differences in teaching styles as the students being taught get older.  A kindergarden teacher knows that kindergardeners need sleep and play time, so during the school day nap times and play times (recess) are added.  High school teachers know that high schoolers do not need nap and play times, but they need other things like independence and support.
Give the people a reason to like you and they will want to follow you.  If you guarantee natural rights people will be happy and they will be happy with your ruling.  Human nature is driven by morals, so to keep people in order one must use these morals to control the people.  I agree leader understands human nature, and is able to use his understanding of it to protect the people's natural rights.  But I do not think it is okay for a leader to use his understanding to manipulate the people, this is wrong.  As long as he is protecting the people's natural rights this is okay.
2. The governed have a responsibility for their governance.
The citizens have to participate in and be knowledgable about their government.  The people are a part of the government, and they have to follow the rules and laws to make the government work.  For the government to be effective it must have the consent of all of the people to be ruled.  The people have a responsibility to be abide the laws.  An example is the U.S. government system.  U.S. citizens elect their leaders, they have a responsibilty to vote for a leader that they think will lead well and protect everyone's natural rights.  If the leader doesn't protect the citizens natural rights he/she can be impeached and a new leader can be voted for.
The people rule the government.  Everyone has a say in their governance, and everyone has a right to be governed properly.  Everyone has a responsibility to fight for their natural rights if they are not being given to them.  The way that a government guarantees natural rights is by giving everyone power and a say.  It is wrong to assume that the government will just use their power fairly, they must be kept in check by the people.

3. Human Nature does not determine our actions; it inclines us towards certain actions.
Not all humans are the same, they will all choose to do different things. Although human nature plays a part in our decision making we still make the choices ourselves.  Human nature is like advisory signs in your head, you can go against your human nature.  It's like a speed limit sign telling you to go at that speed, it doesn't force you to go at that speed.  An example could be if somebody is in the CVU cafeteria and they forgot their lunch money at home.  They are very hungary, but they do not want to steal the food because it goes against their human nature.  Their hungar, depending on the severity, could drive them to steal the food.
Our morals that we all have as humans play a large role in determining the actions we will take.  Everyone is different and responds differently to different situations, but everyone has the same core values that influence their decions.  Human nature guides us, it's like a path in the woods.  Going off of the path is possible, but it will be a harder trek if you do not follow it.  There will always be people that do not follow human nature.  I agree completely with this statement.  This is the reason that there are those in this world that we can consider bad.  They are not following their human nature to be good.

Sudanese Boys

The Sudanese boys' experience shows that in a state of nature humans will help eachother to survive.  The Sudanese boys' lives were all in danger and they could have just cared for themselves.  But, instead, they helped eachother.  The boys knew that it was the right thing to do to help eachother survive because of their morals that they were born with.  They saw their village being attacked, so they left.  They were 6-11 year old boys and yet they knew to help eachother and care for eachother.  This is because of the human nature that were born with.

Lord of The Flies

The ending to The Lord of The Flies was unrealistic and inaccurate.  Having the ship come was an unsatisfying ending that left many questions unaswered.  What would have happened to Ralph and the other boys if the ship had not come?  Would Jack have kept his power?  There has been much debate as to whether the ending shows my idea or Hobbe's idea of human nature.  Many argue that the killing of Piggy was Hobbsean.  This is not true.  Humans start with a blank slate in their heads, these children have not had time to fill this slate.  They are children and they cannot represent human nature.
I believe that the ending of this book should be much different.  I would start with the death of Piggy, I do not believe that these boys would have killed him.  Jack, who was hesitant to kill a pig earlier in the book would not be able to kill a human.  It is against the morals that he was born with.  Let's say the ship didn't come and the boys did not get rescued.  Jack's ruling would have been overthrown pretty quickly.  He was leading a government that did not guarantee the other boy's natural rights.  He was actually taking away their natural rights.  The boys would have recognized this and they would have gone back to Ralph.  Ralph's fair leadership would bring them all together and the boys would work well together.  Eventually a ship would see their fire and rescue them and the seamen would find that the boys had all helped eachother to survive.

Thesis Statement: The boys actions in The Lord of The Flies prove that it is human nature to make all decisions based on moral values.
